Environmental Awareness Committee

Our team purpose is to use our knowledge, enthusiasm and love of the environment to motivate, inspire and educate fellow members of the St. Mary of the Lakes Parish community and local communities to preserve and protect the environment, to conserve natural resources, and to foster a better understanding of the need to care for God’s creation.

The items we can collect for recycle purposes include –


                       
Used Postage Stamps – a collection box is in the parking lot entrance to the church

Bottle caps – a collection bin is in the Jackson Road entrance of the church
           
Box Tops for Education - a collection box is in the parking lot entrance to the church

Toner cartridges
–  a collection box is in the parking lot entrance to the church

Campbell soup labels – a collection box is in the parking lot entrance to the church

The St. Francis Pledge

I/We Pledge to:

  • PRAY and reflect on the duty to care for God’s Creation and protect the poor and vulnerable.

  • ACT to change our choices and behaviors to reduce the ways we contribute to climate change.
  • ADVOCATE for Catholic principles and priorities in climate change discussions and decisions, especially as they impact those who are poor and vulnerable.
